FAQ's

What are the Leap Year trips?

LEAP Year includes three key trips:

  1. Snake Creek Cattle Company, Weari, NSW — focusing on agri-tourism and hospitality industries
  2. Queensland, working with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) — on Indigenous engagement and environmental sustainability projects
  3. International Destination — an international experience to a destination partially selected by the LEAP Year participants. Possible locations include Nepal, Cambodia, the Philippines, or Thailand, with a focus on cultural immersion, service projects, and global awareness.

Who chooses the international trip destination?

The LEAP Year participants will work together to research and decide on their international trip destination. This encourages ownership, teamwork, and consideration of the trip's purpose.

Are students required to work during the LEAP Year?

LEAP Year participants will be strongly encouraged to have a part-time job during Leap Year, as they will gain valuable workplace experience, develop independence, and build transferable skills. However, this is not compulsory as we recognise individuals have varying needs and life commitments.

Are the trips included in the program cost?

Details about costs and inclusions will be provided as part of the LEAP Year enrolment information. Fundraising opportunities may also be available to support trip costs — though, most trips are covered by tuition fees; with the international trip incurring some additional costs. Costs will be subject to the destination and inclusions.
