This year's theme is “Now more than ever”. It's meant as a reminder to all Australians that the fight for equality and justice for Indigenous Australians must continue.
At Narnia Waratah we are striving to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their culture, and how we can educate and support this next generation to be informed advocates for all.
We started our week with a visit by Uncle Amos Simon who is a Wiradjuri and Worimi man who has lived and breathed his culture his entire life. He has grown up around the harbour with his family including three brothers and his sister.
Uncle Amos played his didgeridoo and his guitar and taught us about many different Australian animals through movement, song and story.
