Aaron Hodges - Head of Junior School
Aaron Hodges is an experienced educational leader who is pleased to join St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle as the new Head of Junior School in 2024. A dedicated advocate for holistic student development within a Christian context, Aaron brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to the mission of Christian education.
Aaron's educational journey is marked by academic excellence, holding a Master of Teaching (Primary) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Completed with Distinction) from the University of Sydney. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, he recently participated in the National Flagship Program at The AIS Leadership Centre.
Prior to commencing at St Philip's Christian College Newcastle, Aaron served as the Assistant Principal (Student Wellbeing K-12) at Macquarie College and as the Head of Campus at DALE, St Philip’s Christian College, Waratah. His roles have included strategic leadership, educational development, and active community engagement.
A committed lifelong learner, Aaron has participated in several significant professional development programs, including Stanford University D School Training and Berry Street Trauma Informed Practice. Actively involved in community and church events, indigenous ministry, and the development of mentoring programs, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to holistic community wellbeing.
Alongside leading the Junior School, Aaron is also a parent of the College, with three daughters currently attending St Philip's.
