Junior School
Pastoral care within the Junior School is multi-layered to provide support and nurture to all children.
Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing is provided primarily by the Class Teacher and Year Level Team Leader.
Our staffing structure also allows for a Student Wellbeing Coordinator, who along with the Junior School Leadership Team assists with more significant matters of pastoral care.
The College Ministry team forms the final layer in a comprehensive provision of pastoral care.
Middle School
A key belief of Middle School is that, ‘you can’t teach a child you don’t know’ and therefore student wellbeing is central to our philosophy.
At the core of this is the homeroom teacher, whose mandate is to build a relationship with the students and parents of their homeroom class. Supported by the wellbeing team and executive staff, the homeroom teachers are the first ‘port of call’ for wellbeing needs of students.
Youth Chaplains offer further support to students, and these members of staff can often be found ‘hanging out’ with students in the playground during recess and lunchtime in order to build connections.
Senior School
There are multiple layers to support the wellbeing of Senior School students:
Morning Prayer Teacher
Every student in Senior School is part of a Morning Prayer class who will meet together to pray, share and support one another, and help to build a sense of belonging and community. Morning Prayer teachers are the first layer of wellbeing support for each individual student.
Student Wellbeing Advisors
Student Wellbeing Advisors are an additional layer of support for students. As members of the Senior School Student Wellbeing Advisory Team, these teachers are responsible for outworking effective practices in pastoral care, management of student behaviour and welfare within a particular year group. There are eight Wellbeing Advisors in the Senior School team, who work with students, parents and staff for the wellbeing of students.
Senior School Director of Student Wellbeing
The Senior School Director of Student Wellbeing leads the Senior School Student Wellbeing Advisory Team, and is the third layer of support for student wellbeing.
Youth Chaplains
Youth Chaplains offer further support to students, and these members of staff can often be found ‘hanging out’ with students in the playground during recess and lunchtime in order to build connections.
