CSIRO Researcher visits St Philip’s
Posted 1st September 2017 in Senior School
On Friday the 18th of August, Dr Chris Fell, principal research scientist at the CSIRO Photovoltaic Performance Laboratory here in Newcastle, visited the college. He spoke with our Year 11 Engineering Studies students about some of their current project work, before sharing a working lunch with students from the Junior, Middle and Senior schools. Just prior to that, students interested in working in the Space Industries participated in a Webinar that was streamed to 400 schools Australia wide. Later that afternoon, Dr Fell spent time building and testing space towers with a number of Middle School students. We are grateful for the time that Dr Fell could spend encouraging our students to consider careers in science, technology, and engineering.
