What will my pay be this year?
Please refer to the CMEA payscales above to check your current classification and how you will translocate to the new pay rate and then view the pay rate for 2025 in the proposed salary scale.
I'm not sure what my current pay classification is?
You can check your current pay classification on My pay – Self Service (ESS). To do this click on the vertical ellipsis (3 dot drop-down menu) on the left-hand corner of your screen, select My Pay >Salary>Current Class.
How do I know what my new classification will be?
Please refer to the Translocation information above.
When will the pay rise come through? And will I get back-pay?
Before the payrise can be actioned, the Fairwork Commission must approve the proposed CMEAS. We are expecting that this will occur sometime late March/early April. We are expecting that the new pay classifications and translocation of staff will be fully operational in our payroll system by this time and the new pay rate will be evidenced in your pay in April. This is all dependent on the time the Fairwork Commission takes to approve the CMEAs. Once the CMEAs have been approved we will confirm the date the new payrises will be evident in your pay. A back-pay will be made to all relevant staff, dated from the first full pay period after Feb 1st 2025 (as per clause 5 (f) Teacher’s CMEA, and clause 3.4 PAOS CMEA.)
I'm on Coordinator 1 allowance (Teacher MEA). Will this continue under the new CMEA?
All staff who were receiving an allowance for a promotional or leadership position immediately prior to the 1st January 2025 will translocate to the new Leadership Allowance as per the Translocation chart (Table 3 pg 89 of the Teacher CMEA).
I get a First Aid allowance (PAOS). Will this continue?

I'm a beginning teacher. Do I have to gain NESA Proficiency before I can move to the next step?
If you are starting your teaching career and are accredited by NESA as Conditional or Provisional, you will be classified as Step 1.1 on the Salary Scale. After 12 months full-time equivalent service you will move to Step 1.2 on the salary scale. You must gain NESA proficiency before being able to move to the next step, Step 2.1. Progression to the top of the Salary Scale (Step 2.5), occurs for every 12 months full-time equivalent service after that.

The voting period commences on Monday, 24th February at 8.00am and closes on Friday, 28th February, 2025 at 4.00pm. You can vote anytime between these times.
You will receive an email and text message from ‘Vero Voting’ on Monday, 24th February, 2025 at 8.00am. You will be asked if you vote in favour of the CMEA and to reply Yes or No. You can only vote once. If you vote via email, you will not be able to vote on your phone. You will receive a notification and a receipt number that your vote has been received.
Do I have to vote?
Voting is not compulsory, however we encourage all staff to participate by casting their vote.
What if I don't have access to a device when I need to vote?
If you do not have access to a device during this time period to vote, please contact the school’s IT department and they will arrange for you to borrow a school device so you can cast your vote.
If I've already voted, can I change my mind and vote again?
No, once you’ve cast your vote you cannot rescind that vote. Please read all of the documents provided so you are well informed before making your decision whether to vote in favour or not for the proposed CMEA.
If I'm a teacher can I vote for the PAOS CMEA?
No, you can only vote for the CMEA that you work under, so Professional and Support Staff can only vote for proposed PAOS CMEA and teachers can only vote for the proposed teachers CMEA.
How long will Fairwork Commission take to approve the CMEA?
We are hoping that the Fairwork Commission will approve the CMEAs within a short time frame, however we are not sure. Our hope is that this would be approved as soon as possible, so we are working towards April being the date that the new CMEAs are in force.
